Lots going on in the market today. Despite rising interest rates, buyers are still finding stiff competition in the housing market. The lack of inventory is still causing appreciation in home prices and multiple offer situations This is especially prevalent in the 500k and under market.
This week, an agent on my team wrote an offer a listing priced at $469,000 well into the 5’s, waived the contingencies and still did not get the property under agreement. He was one of 25 offers.
Nationwide, two thirds of the properties that go on the market are getting multiple offers.
Is there a slowdown? The mainstream media outlets only show one side.
